The Role
We're looking for a staff software engineer to work on the systems and applications that power our Advertising and Fan Engagement products — harnessing GeniusIQ to surface real-time game insights, connect fans to brands and advertisers, and produce differentiated next-generation content. This role suits engineers who bring diverse perspective to modern technology challenges and who thrive in collaborative environments.
What You'll Do

Design and develop systems and applications that power our automated, real-time Advertising and Fan Engagement products.

Own and implement features end-to-end across the stack — from development through deployment and production support.

Lead technical discussions, drive architectural decisions, and improve scalability and operational efficiency as we expand across new leagues and sports globally.

Help translate product ideas into practical technical solutions.

Design and maintain the foundational platform that supports engineering teams building on top of it.

Design and improve testing and release strategies across backend services, web apps, data pipelines, messaging/streaming, real-time inference systems, and on-site hardware.

Monitor, analyze, and continuously improve system performance, reliability, and scalability.

Mentor and lead within our local (in-office) and broader engineering community.

Build mechanisms for human- or agent-in-the-loop workflows that validate, correct, and enhance system outputs.
What You'll Bring
✓ Experience operating distributed systems
✓ Experience building real-time systems and interactive web frontends
✓ Experience designing APIs and integrating services
✓ Experience managing relational databases — schema design, indexing, query optimization, migrations, availability
✓ Experience with messaging systems — partitioning strategies, broker scaling, consumer design
✓ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
