We build tools that help traders and investors make informed decisions — from advanced charting and market data to collaboration and publishing features. Our products are used daily by millions of individuals and trusted by companies like Revolut, Binance, and CME Group.
We’re continuing to grow and scale our platform, and we’re looking for people who care about product quality, take ownership of their work, and want to build systems used by a global audience.
About the team
We are looking for an experienced Unit Lead to take on technical and organizational leadership across the unit. This is a true "leader of leaders" role focused on technical strategy, reliability, people development, and process maturity. While your direct reports will be Team Leads and Tech Leads, we expect you to remain technically grounded with a deep understanding of system design, distributed architectures, and codebase fundamentals.
Your mission will be to align the teams under a single strategic vision, drive cross-team synergies, balance product delivery with technical debt and reliability, and grow future engineering leaders in a high-ownership, high-scale environment.
Responsibilities
- Own and execute the unit's technical strategy and roadmap, translating company business objectives into clear, measurable engineering goals and delivery milestones .
- Unify multiple engineering teams around a shared runtime and platform architecture, maximizing synergies and eliminating inter- team dependencies.
- Directly manage and mentor Team Leads; conduct regular 1:1s, support their managerial growth, and guide their progression through engineering grades.
- Own resource management across the unit: run hiring, onboarding, capacity planning, and headcount budgeting; justify compensation adjustments and ensure teams are staffed to deliver on commitments.
- Foster a culture of high ownership, accountability, transparency, and continuous learning across all teams within the unit.
- Own platform reliability and technical health: define and enforce SLOs/SLAs, availability and latency targets, incident post-mortems, and a robust on-call culture.
- Drive Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity Planning (BCP): define RTO/RPO targets, design dual-hub/failover scenarios, and oversee regular readiness checks.
- Supervise capacity forecasting, scaling, and operations on Kubernetes and cloud platforms while optimizing the total cost of ownership (TCO).
- Optimize engineering workflows, implementing modern delivery frameworks, release metrics, quality controls, and effective requirements management.
- Represent the unit at the company and executive level; proactively work with stakeholders (product managers, adjacent engineering departments) to align on roadmaps, architectural trade-offs, and risks
What makes you the perfect fit
- 5+ years of experience in engineering management (Unit Lead / Engineering Manager), ideally with experience managing Team Leads / Tech Leads and multiple teams simultaneously.
- Strong background in backend development (Go or Java) and a proven track record of building and managing distributed systems at scale.
- Deep experience with high-load, low-latency services in a production environment.
- Solid understanding of SRE practices: SLO/SLA formulation, observability, incident management, and building an on-call culture.
- Confident practical understanding of capacity planning, resource allocation, and operations within Kubernetes and cloud/container infrastructures.
- Proven ability to define strategy, set OKRs, and build transparent processes for performance reviews and engineer growth (PDPs).
- Excellent systems thinking, high comfort level in managing ambiguity, and strong prioritization skills.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills to effectively bridge technical teams and business leadership.
- Working-level Russian and English (for internal communication, meetings, and technical documentation).
